Not bad

Overall its a pretty good song. The EQ'ing is very good and all the sounds and vocals are very clear. The only things that really bother me are the repetitiveness of the song and the vocals just sound weird to me, for lack of a better word.

I enjoyed it though :) 4/5

CornwallProject responds:

I agree that the vocals kinda suck, but i made the song as a request from a friend, so theres really nothing i can do about it :P

Thanks for your review though! :P

Smooth

The song runs smoothly and I like the gates and the part at 1:25. They were really cool additions to the song.

I really don't know what else to say about this song since its not what I normally and its kind of short. Great job anyway though. I really enjoyed it :)

5/5

(Also, I lol'd at your response to Megafones' comment xD I feel the same way about some reviews I get.)

mjattie responds:

hahaha, lol, I'm glad I'm not the only one. I thank you for your review! You're right about the length

Beautiful

This song is just flat out gorgeous. Everything is just perfect...honestly. All of the instruments blended together perfectly which kinda seemed weird to me since there was such a variety of sounds. It's really cool how you pulled this one off :)

I loved the super long intro before the beat came in. This was my favorite part. It gave me a really sublime feeling. The best way I can describe it is a feeling of passion :P

The beat was very cool. It added elements that are usually present in your house and electro tracks which helped change the dimensions of the song. I'm glad you decided to put it in there :D

5/5 and fav'd. I would download, but my iPod is broken :( I'm come back and get it when I get a new one though :D

mjattie responds:

waaw :) Thanks for the kind review! I'm glad someone likes it.. Worked my ass off, on it :P

Pretty good!

Pretty cool song you have here. I liked all of the synths used and all of the melodies fit in well with the song. I also really liked the sidechaining part :D

The only problem is the piano. The notes are fine, but the sound quality for the piano is not very good :( Try to add some reverb to it and increase the EQ'ing on it. Do this and the song will be 5x better :D

Great song over all. Just make it a bit longer and fix that piano ;)

i agree with everything u just said, i will admit that this isnt very polished. thanks for the advice and thanks for listening!

A good start!

I'd say this is a pretty good attempt at your first time at recording something of this genre.

I LOVED the smooth intro part and I was getting pumped when you did the slide, but I was dissappointed with the ending. It just didn't run smoothly with the intro :/

But keep trying man! I feel like you can make some really great metal songs in the future with some practice!

4/5

P.S: Did you play both the guitar and drums? Just curious :P

Jnr1114 responds:

Thanks!
Can you suggest anything after the slide? (just PM me)

I only played the guitar, the drums were a program called EZdrummer.

Good attempt

The song itself (and by that I mean the notes of the song) are very pretty. However, the mediocre sound quality of the piano takes away some of the beauty that this song possesses :/

I suggest that you add some reverb, maybe a bit of a delay, and whatever you think you can incerase the quality of this song.

Its a really good and beautiful piece in it's core. It just needs a few tweaks and a better conclusion :)

4/5 for a good effort. Think about my suggestions. I really want to hear this song when it is at it's best!

DocMurdock responds:

Hmm thanks a million, always up for constructive critisism :) Ill see what i can do with some reverb etc, thanks :)

Cool!

I usually don't thoroughly enjoy 8-bit stuff, but this one is cool! I also really enjoyed the part at about 1:50 :D

The only things that bothered me were the parts where the main synth faded out and that it was a bit too repetative. But other that, its a really cool 8-bit song! :)

5/5

Bunnymajs responds:

aah, thanks.. and thanks for the cirtisism :)

Woah... :O

This song rocks! That synth is freakin' awesome as well! And the fact that this was recorded in real time just makes it even cooler! :D

It's a really cool loop. The only problems that bother me are that it needs a bit variety and the kick needs more bass to it because I can barely hear it. Also, it seems like this would go into the "video game" genre rather than "trance." I could totally see this music used for an epic boss fight or something :P

5/5 from me!

Davirus responds:

Thanks :D
I was checking out your songs and its really appreciated to hear such comment from someone of your caliber.

Indeed, I was about to submit it to the video-game section, but that would make people think this is a video-game remix and not an original production.

I made the song originally (2003) for an animation I still having in mind, with the time the concept and maturity of the song is growing so, I expect I will have the real deal eventually.

Thanks again :1

LOL...pedophile...

Parents can be silly, can't they? xD But jokes aside, onto the review...

This song is yet another masterpiece. The overall mastering is great, the lead melodies are catchy, and the background ambient melodies really add a cool effect to it. It's kinda underwater-y :P

However, there were a few things that bothered me. The percussion was kind of bland like I said in a review another song of yours. Try to make it more "real" sounding instead of having it sound like it was obviously made with a synthesizer. Also, the piano sounded a bit weak. Maybe you should try to add a bit more reverb or delay on it or increase the overall EQ'ing on it, but that's just my opinion.

Oh, put a bit more bass in your kicks. I barely hear them towards the end of the song! A good, strong, bass-y kick can really make your song stand out, but don't make it TOO loud :)

Overall, fantastic job. It's hard to believe that you have improved so quickly! I can only imagine how awesome your songs will be in a few years! Just keep at it man!

And as a word of advice for the future: try to incorporate different styles and genres into your music. For example, look at the various genres I've covered so far with my producing. Doing this can really give you some cool and interesting ideas! :)

So...5/5 (as always :D)

Your friend, UncleSqueezins (Cameron :D)

(P.S. I was serious when I said that you have the potential of making it big one day...)

MrFijiWiji responds:

im just parinoid about making the kick too loud haha...
and ya i need to work on my percussion.. gotta take it easy with the kick clap kick
and the piano was ment to be weak.. it was just something to help fill in the song

Hmm...

Well, you do know that I'm not into this genre, but that won't have any affect on this review.

I can tell you spent a good amount of time one this one. The overall EQ'ing is very good and it had a good atmosphere. It kind of felt like I was underwater or something :P However, it was really short and there are a few major flaws.

First off, PLEASE don't use the crowd sound FX anymore. I can tell you like to use it, but in my opinion, it is just extra noise. But if you MUST use it, then try not to make it so prominent. Also, the bass and kick need more bass and "umph." A good bass is key because it supports the other ingredients of the song, so keep that in mind next time :)

But overall, I enjoyed it and I'm glad to see you working on some new songs.

4/5 for the hard work and effort :)

JordanRothery responds:

thank you for the review :)
